Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

Dabo is a sports organization and community platform that connects clubs, teams, captains, coaches, administrators, and players. Dabo is owned by Dabo Technologies LLC, a Georgia limited liability company, and operates in Hong Kong through Dabo Technologies HK Limited. Privacy inquiries may be sent to privacy@godabo.app.

2. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you use Dabo.

Account and Contact Information

We may collect your name, email address, mobile phone number, profile photograph, account credentials and verification information, and other profile information you choose to provide.

Date of Birth and Age Information

We collect date of birth as part of account registration. We use it to enforce Dabo's minimum account age and to determine or verify eligibility for age-restricted tournaments, divisions, leagues, and other activities. Full dates of birth are not intended to be publicly displayed to other users unless a particular feature expressly requires it and appropriate notice is provided.

Club, Team, and Sports Information

We may collect club affiliation, team membership, club membership number, league or association identification number, role, playing preferences, player ratings or classifications, match records and results, ladder results and rankings, tournament participation, availability and RSVP responses, practice and match lineups, scheduled activities, playing partners and opponents, and other sports-related information.

Information Provided by Clubs, Teams, and Other Users

Clubs, captains, coaches, administrators, teammates, or other authorized users may provide information about you, including your name, contact information, club or team membership, roster status, player identification numbers, match results, ratings, rankings, and other information reasonably necessary to organize club or team activities.

Communications and Content

If you use Dabo's communication or social features, we may collect messages, chat content, comments, photographs, invitations, reactions, and other content you submit.

Device and Usage Information

We may automatically collect IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, app version, device identifiers, language and time zone, pages or features accessed, dates and times of activity, crash and diagnostic information, and interactions with the Services.

Location Information

We may process approximate location information based on information such as IP address. If a feature requires precise device location, we will request permissions required by the applicable platform or law before collecting it.

Payment Information

If you purchase paid Services, payments may be processed by third-party payment processors or app stores. Dabo may receive transaction information such as amount, date, subscription status, and transaction identifier. We generally do not receive or store full payment-card numbers when payments are processed by third parties.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information directly from you; from clubs, teams, captains, coaches, administrators, and other users; automatically when you use the Services; from service providers acting on our behalf; and, where appropriate, from sports leagues, associations, governing bodies, publicly available records, or other authorized sources.

4. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to create and manage accounts; verify identity, age, and account information; enforce the minimum account age; determine eligibility for age-restricted tournaments, divisions, leagues, or activities; connect users with clubs and teams; manage rosters and memberships; schedule activities; collect and display availability and RSVP responses; create and communicate lineups; facilitate communication; operate ladders, tournaments, leagues, rankings, and competitions; record and display scores, results, statistics, and player records; personalize the Services; suggest other players you may want to connect or play with; send service-related notifications and reminders, including push notifications; provide customer support; prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; troubleshoot and improve Dabo; analyze use of the Services; develop new products and features; comply with legal obligations; and enforce our Terms of Service.

Where required by applicable law, we rely on an appropriate legal basis for processing personal information, including consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests, or compliance with legal obligations.

Automated Processing

Some Dabo features use automated tools, including artificial intelligence models operated by third-party service providers, to process information you or your club submit. Examples include reading a photographed score sheet, reading a roster image from a team captain during team setup, reading a court booking confirmation, and suggesting changes to a tournament draw or schedule. The content sent for processing may include player names and match details. These providers process the content on our behalf to return a result to Dabo; we do not permit them to use it to train their models. A person reviews and confirms the result before it is saved.

5. How Information Is Shared Within Dabo

Dabo is designed around participation in sports communities. Depending on your settings, role, club, team, and use of Dabo, other users may see information including your name, profile photograph, club and team, player rating or ranking, playing preferences, match record and results, ladder position, tournament participation, RSVP or availability status, lineup status, and other sports-related profile information.

Captains, coaches, club directors, and administrators may have access to additional information when necessary to manage their teams or organizations. Dabo will provide privacy controls where appropriate for particular features.

Your full date of birth is not intended to be publicly displayed to other users. Dabo may instead use age or age-category information to determine or display eligibility for particular competitions or divisions.

Connections, Search, and Suggested Players

Dabo lets players connect with one another, search for other players by name, club, or playing level, and see players Dabo suggests they may want to connect with. To choose those suggestions we use information such as your club and team, the connections you and another player have in common, your playing level, your gender, your age range, and the location of your club. We use your date of birth only to work out an age range for this purpose and to keep users under 18 out of suggestions. Your date of birth and your age are not shown to other users, and age is never given as the reason for a suggestion.

By default, players outside your clubs can find you in player search and may see you as a suggested connection. Until the two of you are connected, they see a shortened form of your name (for example, "Alex T.") together with your club, playing level, and gender, and they do not see your profile photograph. Members of your own clubs and teams, and your existing connections, see your name and profile as described above.

You can turn this off at any time in your profile under Settings, using "Let other players find me". When it is off, only members of your clubs and teams and your existing connections can find you in search, and you are not suggested to anyone else. Turning it off does not remove connections you already have, and it does not hide you from a game, group, team, or chat you are part of. You can also hide any individual suggestion, and block or report another player.

6. How We Share Information With Third Parties

We may disclose personal information to categories of service providers that help us operate Dabo, including providers of cloud hosting and database services, authentication, email and messaging, push notifications, analytics, customer support, security and fraud prevention, payment processing, mapping, and software infrastructure. These providers may process information as necessary to provide services to Dabo and are subject to applicable contractual and legal obligations.

We may also share information with clubs, teams, leagues, tournaments, associations, or sports organizations with which you are affiliated when necessary to provide the Services.

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; protect the rights or safety of Dabo, our users, or others; investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or enforce our agreements.

If Dabo participates in a merger, financing, acquisition, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law.

7. Sale of Personal Information and Advertising

Dabo does not sell your personal information for money. Unless this Privacy Policy is updated to state otherwise, Dabo does not use personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under applicable U.S. state privacy laws.

If our practices change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any legally required choices or opt-out mechanisms.

8. Communications and Notifications

We may send communications necessary to operate Dabo, including account verification messages, invitations, match and practice reminders, RSVP requests, lineup notifications, club or team communications, push notifications, security alerts, and service announcements.

Where permitted, we may also send information about Dabo products, features, or promotions. You may opt out of promotional communications using the unsubscribe mechanism provided. You may continue receiving necessary transactional or service communications. Push notifications can generally be controlled through Dabo or your device settings.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services; maintain your account; support legitimate club and competition records; fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy; resolve disputes; prevent fraud and abuse; and comply with legal obligations.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and its purpose. When personal information is no longer reasonably necessary, we will delete, anonymize, or otherwise appropriately dispose of it, subject to applicable law. Certain sports results, competition records, or aggregated statistics may remain as part of historical records after an account is deleted where permitted by law.

10. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your Dabo account and associated personal information through account functionality provided within Dabo or by contacting privacy@godabo.app.

When an account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize associated personal information unless retention is reasonably necessary or legally permitted, including for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or legitimate historical competition records.

Information that other users have independently submitted, such as match results involving multiple players, may not necessarily be removed when one participant deletes an account.

11. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction. However, no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and should notify us promptly if they believe their account has been compromised.

12. International Data Transfers

Dabo operates internationally. Your personal information may be processed or stored in countries or territories other than the country where you live, including the United States and Hong Kong, and in locations where our service providers operate. Where required by applicable law, we take appropriate measures regarding international transfers of personal information.

13. Children's Privacy

Dabo is a general-audience sports platform that is not directed to children under 13. Dabo accounts are available only to individuals who are at least 13 years old, subject to any higher age restriction imposed by applicable law, an app store, platform, club, league, or other applicable requirement.

Dabo requires date of birth during registration and uses it, among other purposes, to enforce age requirements and determine eligibility for age-restricted activities. If the date of birth entered during registration indicates that the individual is under 13, Dabo does not permit the individual to create or maintain a registered account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through registered Dabo accounts.

Users who are at least 13 but have not reached the age of legal majority where they live may use Dabo only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. During registration, Dabo may ask such users to confirm that they have obtained that permission. This confirmation is a representation by the user and is not intended to represent that Dabo has independently verified the identity or consent of the parent or guardian.

Users under 18 are not included in suggested connections and are not shown suggestions themselves. In player search they are shown only to members of their own clubs and teams and to their existing connections, whatever their discoverability setting.

Clubs, teams, captains, coaches, administrators, and other users should not knowingly create Dabo accounts for children under 13.

If we learn that an account has been created by or for a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to close the account and delete or otherwise appropriately handle associated personal information, except where retention is required or permitted by law.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a child under 13 has created a Dabo account, please contact privacy@godabo.app.

14. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, or deletion; obtain information about how personal information is used or disclosed; withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and object to or restrict certain processing where applicable.

To submit a privacy request, contact privacy@godabo.app. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.

15. Hong Kong Privacy Rights

For individuals in Hong Kong, Dabo handles personal data in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) ("PDPO") and applicable Data Protection Principles.

Dabo Technologies HK Limited may act as a data user for personal data collected or processed in connection with Dabo's Hong Kong operations. Personal data will generally be collected only where necessary for purposes related to providing and operating Dabo and will not be excessive in relation to those purposes.

Unless otherwise indicated, providing optional profile information is voluntary. Certain information, including date of birth and other account information, may be required to establish an account, enforce age requirements, verify club or team membership, determine tournament or division eligibility, or use particular features. If required information is not provided, we may be unable to provide the applicable feature or Service.

Hong Kong users may request access to or correction of personal data held about them in accordance with the PDPO.

Hong Kong access or correction requests may be sent to privacy@godabo.app.

16. United States Privacy Rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws. Depending on the law and whether it applies to Dabo, these rights may include the ability to know or access personal information collected about you; request deletion or correction; obtain a portable copy of certain information; opt out of certain sales or sharing; and exercise privacy rights without discriminatory treatment.

Dabo does not currently sell personal information for money. You may submit a request at privacy@godabo.app. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.

17. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our websites and web applications may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, provide security, understand usage, diagnose problems, and improve the Services.

Where required by applicable law, we will provide appropriate notice or choices regarding non-essential cookies or similar technologies. Browser settings may allow you to restrict certain cookies, although doing so may affect some Dabo functionality.

18. Third-Party Links and Services

Dabo may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, applications, or services. This Privacy Policy does not govern services operated independently by third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Dabo evolves. If we make material changes, we may notify you through Dabo, by email, or through another appropriate method. The "Last Updated" date at the top identifies when it was most recently revised.
